Manuscripts sent to PNA are subjected to a review process. As a first step, the editorial board verifies that the manuscript satisfies the requirements described in the instructions to the authors. Next, the academic and scientific value of the manuscript is evaluated. This is done through a double blind peer review by at least two reviewers. Reviewers are Spanish and foreign experts on the Mathematics Education area to which the manuscript refers to. Finally, the editorial board, following the journal’s general criteria and the reviewers´ responses, decides if the manuscript can be published. The estimated time of response is three months. The journal keeps the rights for making style changes if they contribute to the article’s legibility.
In order to send a manuscript to PNA for review, please follow these instructions:
1. The study reported has to be on mathematics education. The study can be theoretical or empirical. It should not have been published previously in a research journal.
2. The manuscript can be written in English or Spanish. It should follow APA’s 6th edition publication guidelines.
3. The manuscript should not exceed 6,000 words, including tables and appendices.
4. It should include, in English and Spanish: (a) title, (b) summary not exceeding 100 words, and (c) three to six keywords.
5. The file containing the manuscript should be sent in DOC or RTF format in a single text column.
6. Drawings, diagrams, graphs and images should be sent separately (in a folder not containing the manuscript file) in TIFF, JPG or PDF format with at least 300 ppi resolution. The manuscript's file should indicate the location of each file in the text flow.
7. A second blind version of the manuscript should be sent without the authors’ names and no information that might allow to identify them (e.g., affiliation, cites, references, acknowledgements, information about the research project). In this version, you should replace self cites and references by “Author, year” or “Author et al., year”. The name of the journal or the title of the edited book where self-references are published should be removed.
8. Authors information should be provided in a separate file (name, affiliation, email, address, telephone and fax number). This file should include a brief (three sentences) biographic information of each author.
9. Authors should possess the manuscript’s copyright and obtain the rights of other authors’ material included in the manuscript.
10. If there is more than one author, a corresponding author should be designated. The corresponding author will be in charge of all the communication with PNA.
11. Files should be emailed to pna@ugr.es.
12. Once the manuscript is accepted for publication, PNA will ask the corresponding author to sign a letter transferring the manuscript's copyright to PNA.
